Software Administration
View all the Software seen on Endpoints in your environment, then configure monitoring for all or specific machines.
A Software represents a standalone published application on any of your monitored Endpoints. For example, you may see additional similarly named software for separate components that are installed, and run independently, from a parent application.
To begin, navigate to the Adminstation pages by visiting the gear () icon in the upper-right corner, and select Manage Software.
A list of all software that has ever been seen in your environment is presented. Note the Filter for quicker navigation.
NOTE
Each Software is presented with the grade for the worst version presently seen on your Endpoints.
Click on any Software to see additional details.
Installed Paths
Spektion leverages the installation path of the application to associate and monitor the executables (EXEs) and libraries (DLLs) of a piece of Software.
Installed Paths should be automatically identified by the Spektion Sensor.
In rare cases, an Administrator may need to provide the path by clicking Add Path and entering the directory where the application resides.
TIP
Applications residing in C:\Users\ should leverage a wildcard (*) to ensure all Users are monitored. Failure to do so will limit the telemetry gathered to only the specified user.
For example: C:\Users\*\AppData\Local\Discord
Software Versions
Software versions provide unique insight into the risk trend for an application over releases.
Administrators can Enable/Disable specific versions from monitoring, or can select specific Endpoints to monitor by selecting Modify endpoints.
