Setup Okta for Single Sign-On to Spektion
Learn how to setup Okta to provide Single Sign-On (SSO) to Spektion.
To begin, log in to your Okta Dashboard e.g.
<your custom domain>.okta.com
.Expand the Applications navigation menu and click Applications. This will take you to a list of your Application integrations.
Click the Create App Integration button on the top left side of the list
Once the Create new app integration dialog appears select the SAML 2.0 option from the list and click Next
The next dialog General Settings is where you provide basic details like a Name and a Logo to identify the app integration. Fill in the App Name with "Spektion" and optionally add a logo. Click Next
In the next dialog Configure SAML, enter the following and then click Next:
- Audience URI (SP Entity ID): enter the value provided in the Spektion SSO/SAML setup labeled Audience URI (SP Entity ID)
- Single sign-on URL: enter the value provided in the Spektion SSO/SAML setup labeled Single sign-on URL
- Name ID format: Choose EmailAddress from the drop down
- Attribute Statements
- Name:
http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/emailaddress
- Name Format: Unspecified
- Value: user.email

On the final dialog screen just click Finish
This will bring you to the Sign On tab on the Application Integration page for Spektion. Inside the SAML 2.0 Box copy the ** Metadata URL** as you will need to to configure the Spektion Side
Return to the Spektion SSO/SAML setup and enter Okta for the Name, and paste the copied value to Metadata URL. Next click Save.
Spektion will attempt to authenticate your account with Okta. After successful authentication you will be able to leverage the SSO option when signing-in to Spektion.
To review or modify the users who are allowed to login to spektion follow steps 1. and 2. and then select the App Integration named Spektion in the list. Once on the settings page for the integration go to the Assignments tab then Assign users and/or groups by clicking the Assign drop down and selecting the desired option Assign to People or Assign to Groups and then selecting the people or groups you want to assign the app to.
